Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Hands down, one of the great prof.s at the school. You need to attend class to do well, but if you go to class and review notes, you'll do very well in the class. He drops the lowest of three exam grades (final included), and he finds the great ways to incorporate real-life examples into coursework through videos/articles/etc. A++++

Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	I took the marketing course as an elective in spring '11 and liked it. He is the great prof. in Geneseo. One thing, he likes serious and motivated students and won't tolerate lazy bums who don't show up in his class.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	its really annoying that he speaks in very broken english yet still has the gall to require an essay and short answer questions throughout the course

Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	I took International Marketing course in fall 10 and liked it. He is a great prof. and highly knowledgeable. I recommend him. One caveat. To do well one must participate in class discussions. If you are a shy person and do not like to talk in the class, then don't take his class. Otherwise it's just great
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	I completely disagree with the previous comments. Prof. Alam is the great. Yes, he will not tolerate the bums in the class, who do not show up, are lazy and disengaged. I will recommend Prof. Alam to anyone who is intelligent like to succeed and do well.

Unclear about expectations and an unimpartial paper grader. exams are a joke, but the class final paper grades averaged around 70 and if you don't speak up in class, expect to get your grade dropped by a letter at least. If you see him in office hours he pretty much pushes you out the door. Not recommended.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	bad communicator. Not quite clear in his articulation of ideas and how he pronunciates and enunciates. I honestly couldn't understand what he was saying half the time. And with all due respect, he really needs to read up on his of American grammar and English in order to effectively grade student papers and the written final.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Makes ineffective use of class time and spends a disproportionate amount of time playing television commercials on his Powerpoint slides. Tends to roughly grade your group paper and does not provide sufficient feedback and commentary. He definitely excels at shamelessly promoting himself and his teaching merits.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Marketing communication is a great course and Alam makes it even greater. Real life examples make the course fascinating and useful. Alam is a great prof., knowledgeable and hillarious.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Just completed two course in Fall 2010. liked both the courses. He is a marketer and wants everyone to be the same. great in Geneseo. Has a passion for marketing. I am not a marketing guy but after his courses I want to be a marketer.
Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	This was one of the great courses I have taken in Geneseo. Alam is outstanding. He knows ins and outs of International Marketing. He is also an entertainer. He has a great showmanship. Must take course.

Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Although this class was very fascinating and for the most part very simple, the major project is worth almost 1/3 of your grade, which he grades very roughly. There is a lot of work if you want to get an A in the class but if you can settle for b/B+ I would recommend taking it.

Overall Helpfulness Clarity Easiness	Great prof., teaches you everything you need for the exam in class. Drops lowest mid year exam grade (two MC mid year exams), and has a written final. Class attendance a must, just take great notes and you'll do well.
